Avalanche Summary

Generally safe avalanche conditions exist. The few slopes where you might still be able to trigger a slab avalanche are where you encounter a cohesive slab of firm, wind-drifted snow just below ridgelines facing east directions, typically around 11,500 to 12,500 feet. Identify and avoid steep slopes in these areas of concern where the snow feels dense and has a hollow feeling to it.
