Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where southwest winds drift snow into dense slabs. The most dangerous slopes face northerly and easterly, and you can find these slopes at any elevation. Pay attention to localized drifting patterns and avoid steep, wind-loaded slopes. Recent avalanche activity and cracking within the new snow are clues to move to wind-sheltered low-angle slopes for safer travel.
