Avalanche danger
Avalanche Discussion
The high pressure ridge over the West Coast will slowly move east. Pulses of moisture will attempt to ride over the ridge bringing a chance for light snowfall to the higher peaks Sunday night and Monday. Winds will continue brisk out of the West at 25 to 30 miles per hour on the ridgecrests. The General Avalanche Hazard in the TETONS will fall to LOW at the Upper elevations and will continue LOW at the Mid and Low elevations on Monday. Isloated pockets of wind slabs could be triggered below large cliffbands that sit in the lee of prevailing winds. The General Avalanche Hazard will remain MODERATE in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails/Greys River areas due to the possibility of triggering full snowpack hard slabs in steep areas. These slabs can slide even in areas that have seen considerable previous traffic.
