At the mid and upper elevations strong crusts and wind-blown snow surfaces are widespread. Well developed surface hoar has formed on shaded and partially shaded aspects. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and upper elevations. Most lower elevation slopes are bare.

A cold front moving into the state from the northwest will bring cooler temperatures to the region Thursday. A second system will bring isolated rain and snow showers to Northwest Wyoming in the afternoon with snow accumulations of two to three inches in the mountains by Friday morning. Ridgecrest winds will come from the west at ten miles per hour in the morning then increase to twenty five mile per hour averages from the southwest by early evening. The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are not likely.
