Regions: Little Yoho.

Avoid uneven, shallow, and faceted areas. Try to find areas with consistent, deeper snow.

Weather Forecast

Some amount of snow and wind is coming, but models disagree on quantity. Windslabs may develop late Friday and on Saturday.

Snowpack Summary

Most regularly skied areas of Yoho have a deep snowpack that can bridge underlying problems. Isolated, shallow snowpack areas may still be triggered.

Avalanche Summary

No avalanches observed or reported.

Confidence

Track of incoming weather systems is uncertain

Avalanche Problems

Deep Persistent Slabs

The weak Oct.26 facets and depth hoar at the base of the snowpack have a significant slab (50-130cm thick) sitting above them. The likelihood of triggering this layer has decreased, but if it does get triggered, the avalanche will be large in size.
Avoid thin, rocky or unsupported slopes.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Unlikely

Expected Size: 1 - 3
