Cameron Lake Road is closed as of 8:30 AM Saturday and will remain closed through the day due to freezing rain. Avalanche danger has climbed to HIGH with moderate westerly winds, increasing temperatures and rain / snowfall accumulation.

Avalanche Problems

Wind Slabs

40 to 50 cm of snow during the past few days is now being redistributed to lee terrain on mostly north and easterly aspects forming easily triggered soft and hard slabs.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East, South.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Likely - Very Likely

Storm Slabs

Buried under developing wind slabs skiers /boarders could trigger storm slabs which developed during the past week. Be cautious in all avalanche terrain on all aspects at treeline and into the alpine.
