Avalanche Summary
Pikes Peak has a highly variable and firm snow surface, making triggering an avalanche difficult. Although triggering an avalanche is unlikely, it is not impossible. Hard-drifted snow areas on slopes steeper than 35 degrees at upper elevations should be traveled on with some caution.
