Avalanche Summary

Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist around Grand Mesa. You can easily trigger an avalanche on steeper slopes where you find more than a foot of new or drifted snow. Some slopes may fail naturally as more snow falls and winds build thick, heavy drifts. To help stay safe, give steep open slopes a wide berth and manage your routes to avoid being on or under steeper terrain above you.
