Avalanche Summary

New snow and strong winds shifting from southwest to northwest will form fresh, dense slabs 2 to 3 feet thick on the eastern half of the compass. Higher-elevation slopes below ridges will be the most hazardous and likely places to encounter this problem and trigger an avalanche. Be heads up for early warning signs like shooting cracks, and plan to avoid any steep, wind-loaded slopes. Lower elevation sheltered terrain will be a much safer option.
