Highlights

At the mid and upper elevations strong southwest to west winds and new snow have formed slabs up to three feet in depth on leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon a weak layer of faceted snow and are likely to be triggered in steep wind loaded starting zones and cliff areas. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets.
