Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in the early morning hours and will increase to CONSIDERABLE as warm temperatures and sunshine combine to weaken the snowpack. As temperatures warm the potential to trigger surface slabs in steep wind loaded terrain will increase. Once triggered these slabs could step down to deeper weak layers of faceted snow. On steep sunlit aspects wet loose and pockets of wet slab could release naturally to the ground especially in areas with a shallow snowpack, in rocky and cliff areas and on steep banks, roadcuts and in gullies.
