Highlights

Recent strong, predominantly southwest winds have transported new and available snow onto lee slopes near ridgetops creating pockets of slabs to 18 inches in depth. At mid and high elevations backcountry travelers may also trigger slides on steep, northerly slopes that saw little travel prior to the recent snow cycle. At low elevations avalanches are unlikely unless the sun pokes out and heats up the snowpack.
