The General Avalanche Hazard at Mid and Upper elevations is LOW this morning rising to MODERATE in the afternoon. Well developed crusts will soften with daily warming and sunlight, increasing the possiblity of slides. Slides may start by backcountry travellers, snow falling off cliff areas or cornice collapses.

Periods of showers and sunshine are forecasted for the area through tomorrow afternoon resulting from a series of weak disturbances ejected out of a cut off low-pressure system near the California coast. Any accumulations should be light. Overnight lows will be in the 20s at all elevations, before rising into the upper 30s in the mountains, and upper 40s in the valley.AVALANCHE HAZARD FORECAST FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS, AND SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAS:The General Avalanche Hazard will be LOW at all elevations tomorrow morning, and will rise relative to the amount of sun impacting the snowpack during the day. Any extended periods of sun this time of year can rapidly warm the upper snowpack and wet, loose slides can result. Slides may be started by backcountry travellers, snow falling off cliff areas, or cornice collapses.
