Avalanche Summary

Start your day early and end early to avoid wet avalanches that are imminent in the afternoon. A supportable melt-freeze crust underfoot is important for traveling on sunny slopes. If you sink into the snowpack past your ankles or observe rollerballing and pinwheeling of the surface snow, it's time to return to the trailhead or avoid steep slopes with similar conditions.
