Avalanche Activity

Wet and gliding avalanches are the main danger. Backcountry tours should be concluded early.

As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in all regions. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in all aspects. In all aspects medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are possible. Gliding avalanches can also occur. Avalanches can as before be released, in particular by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to gradual moistening of the snowpack. Weak layers exist in the snowpack.
