Early morning: Up to 2200 m rain will fall. Moist and wet avalanches and wet loose snow slides are possible.
As a consequence of the rain wet snow slides and avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones, in particular on very steep slopes at low and intermediate altitudes. Gradual increase in danger of dry and moist avalanches as the snowfall level drops. The new snow and wind slabs can be released very easily at high altitude, in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation caution is to be exercised on very steep slopes. The current avalanche situation calls for careful route selection.
Since Friday the weather has been exceptionally warm. The surface of the snowpack cooled hardly at all during the overcast night. The rain will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack at low and intermediate altitudes. 10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the evening above approximately 1800 m. At intermediate and high altitudes there is still a very large amount of snow.
Above approximately 1400 m snow will fall in some regions. In some localities increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the snowfall.
