The snowpack contains weak snow in the higher terrain but things are currently mostly stable. The overall avalanche danger on the Manti Skyline is generally LOW.
Drifts that formed last weekend should be mostly stable at this time. However, some of those drifts are sitting on top of old weak faceted snow. It's tricky to identify which drifts are on old weak snow and which ones aren't. You may still be able to trigger a small pocket in the higher very steep terrain especially on the more east facing slopes. It's pretty unlikely but still something to consider.
General Conditions: It was another warm day in the mountains on Tuesday with temperatures up to around 40°F and calm to light wind. There's not much to report about the current shallow snowpack except that there is barely enough snow to travel around slowly and cautiously in the higher terrain.
Mountain Weather: We are going to have another warm day with calm wind to start the morning. It'll remain generally light from the southwest through the day. A storm will move through Thursday and into Friday and could bring some snow. It's going to be warm with the rain/snow level starting out up around 8000 or 9000 feet in elevation. Temperatures cool slightly on Friday but overall, this is a warm storm. It looks like it could get a bit windy starting late Thursday. For snow totals, I'm expecting something in the 4 to 6 inch range.
