Highlights

There is a MODERATE avalanche danger rating in the upper elevation steep slopes that face northwest through southeast.

Fresh drifts and wind slabs scattered all over the place in the higher terrain could crack out on a person.

If you avoid the drifts and slabs, the avalanche danger is LOW.

    I always say "nothing good comes from an east wind". Watch for fresh drifts in places you don't usually see them. They will be scattered all over along the higher terrain. Overall, these drifts and slabs won't pose all that much threat of burial but they definitely could catch you and "boss you around" a bit. I'm not sure how pronounced or sensitive they will be. As always, watch for cracking on the surface. Hit small drifts on TEST SLOPES to get an idea of how sensitive they are.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: The wind shifted around and has been blowing from the northeast overnight with some stronger speeds. These stronger winds appear to be more pronounced on the north end of the Skyline. Temperatures dipped into the single digits and have rebounded into the mid teens. Yesterday's little storm left a trace to two inches of new low density snow. Riding conditions were excellent again on Sunday. Hopefully the northeast wind hasn't hammered things too much.

Mountain Weather: It looks like partly to mostly cloudy skies today. Northeast wind should slow and shift more northerly. Temperatures might make it to around 20˚F today. There are no significant storms in sight but the weather pattern looks messy with clouds and chances for snow flurries through the week.
