Highlights

Conditions on Wednesday will be similar to what we saw on Tuesday (albeit a few degrees cooler, and with a little more cloud cover).  This means avalanches will continue to be unlikely.  Even in Low danger, avalanches can occur on very steep or isolated slopes.  It is always worth considering avalanches if you are choosing to ride steep, unsupported slopes.

Avalanche Discussion

What a day Tuesday was.  It was very warm and sunny in the mountains.  I think I skied through breakable crust, slush, powder and maybe even some windboard... all on the same run!  Conditions are variable.  Despite the very warm temperatures, there is still snow in the trees in a few places, and there is much less surface melting than we see later in the year with a higher sun angle and longer days.

We have more unsettled weather in our future; starting off pretty warm, but hopefully we'll have some fresh snow by Saturday at the latest.
