Forecast Snow Stability: There will be a period of increased instability during the evening and overnight as rainfall affects the snowpack at all levels. Areas most affected will be North-West through North to East aspects above 900 metres where avalanches are likely. Cornices above these aspects will be prone to spontaneous collapse. West aspects will also be affected. During the day stability will improve, especially as the freezing level drops. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, precipitation will fall as rain at all levels. The day will be mainly dry, with a few showers falling as snow above around 900 metres. The freezing level will be above all summits during the night dropping post dawn to around 1000 metres. Winds will be moderate, South-Easterly during the evening then veering overnight to be Westerly through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were strong, easing moderate from late morning, generally Southerly. Showers initially fell as snow above 300 metres, rising to above 850 metres by early afternoon as the freezing level rose to around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh unstable windslab continued to be deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. Fragile cornices are present above these aspects. West aspects are also affected. At lower levels and on other aspects the snowpack is generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
