Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to consolidate but moderately bonded windslab will persist on South-West through North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Steep wind sheltered terrain such as gully tops and corrie rims most affected. Cornice stability will remain suspect. Localised deeper drifts will be encountered from 750 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: After a brief snow shower this evening, dry throughout the rest of the period. The freezing level will initially be around 900 metres but will rise above the summits during the day. Winds light overnight, East at dawn, veering and strengthening to become moderate Southerlies. Observed Weather Influences: A mix of sunshine and showers. The air temperature was around plus one degree at 900 metres. Winds were moderate from the South. ObservedSnowStability: There is a blanket of generally soft wet snow from 800 metres. Unstable windslab persists in steep wind sheltered locations on South-West through North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Gully tops and steep corrie rims are affected. Localised deep soft drifts are encountered from 750 metres. Avalanche debris noted on a Northerly aspect. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
