The large quantity of fresh snow and also in particular the sometimes deep wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects.

The fresh snow and the wind slabs formed during the snowfall can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases in all aspects. On wind-loaded slopes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls the avalanche situation is more precarious.

Snowpack Structure

In the course of the day sometimes deep wind slabs will form. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.
