The fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs formed during the snowfall can be released by a single winter sport participant. This applies in particular on very steep slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions, as well as at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In particular on very steep slopes small and medium-sized gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible as the penetration by moisture increases. Backcountry tours and ascents to alpine cabins should be started early and concluded timely.

In some regions 15 to 30 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell in the last two days above approximately 2100 m. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will already soften in the late morning, this also applies at low and intermediate altitudes. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from early morning to increasing moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2300 m. This applies in particular on steep east, south and west facing slopes below approximately 2700 m, as well as on north facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. Below approximately 2200 m no snow is lying on south facing slopes. The snowpack is well consolidated and its surface has a melt-freeze crust, especially on shady slopes above approximately 1800 m, as well as in all aspects below approximately 2300 m.

The weather will be mild. A clear night will be followed by favourable conditions generally, but the danger of wet and gliding avalanches will increase later.
