New snow, wind slabs and old snow require caution.

New snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant and reach large size in isolated cases. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas above the tree line, and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Medium-sized natural avalanches are possible especially in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. Avalanche prone weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. These can in some places be released by small loads and reach large size in isolated cases. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate defensive route selection. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and natural avalanches serve as an alarm sign.

30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen. In some localities up to 10 cm of snow will fall. Soft wind slabs are lying on unfavourable layers in particular on steep shady slopes. Precarious weak layers exist in the old snowpack.

The fresh snow and the wind slabs remain prone to triggering.
