Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry and sunny day. Gale force winds from the South-West eased slightly during the afternoon with the freezing level hovering around summit height. ObservedSnowStability: Poorly bonded windslab has developed on steep wind sheltered locations on West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. Areas most affected are coire rims, gully tops and steep convexities especially in deep accumulations. Fragile cornices are present on the same aspects. Below 900 metres, the snowpack is slowly consolidating and rapidly thawing where exposed to direct sunlight. Wind exposed areas remain firm and icy. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
