Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be generally firm and stable. Isolated deposits of windslab present on South-West, West and North-West aspects above 800 metres will be consolidating. Any fresh hill snow is not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong Easterly winds will steadily increase to become gale force. The freezing level will go above the summits for a brief period overnight and then decrease to around 500 metres. There may be light hill snow but this is not expected to be significant. Observed Weather Influences: Very strong Easterly winds with the freezing level around 450 metres. Snow showers over inland ranges, drier towards coastal mountains. ObservedSnowStability: Over inland mountain ranges there is a dusting of fresh snow, where isolated windslab deposits are developing on South-West, West and North-West aspects above 800 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack is firm and stable.The avalanche hazard is Low.
