In particular at elevated altitudes soft wind slabs will form. Increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.

5 to 20 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2200 m. This applies already during the night. The weather report and anticipated change in the avalanche danger are uncertain. The wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. The fresh wind slabs can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls. In particular on very steep slopes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and wind.

Snowpack Structure

In some localities 5 cm of snow fell yesterday above approximately 2200 m. Less snow than usual is lying. On sunny slopes below approximately 2300 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The conditions below approximately 3000 m are spring-like, in particular on very steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on steep northeast, north and northwest facing slopes. Hardly any more avalanches occurred naturally.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist. As the temperature drops hardly any more moist and wet avalanches are to be expected.
