Persistent weak layers
- All elevations
The snowpack will be in most cases well bonded.
Over a wide area only a little snow is lying. The snowpack is largely stable. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some case. The surface of the snowpack will freeze, but a strong crust will not form and will already be soft in the early morning. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. This applies especially above approximately 2500 m.
Over a wide area some new snow to intermediate altitudes.
The snowpack will be in most cases well bonded.
Currently there are favourable conditions generally. Avalanches can be released in deeper layers, in particular by large additional loads. This applies in particular above approximately 2800 m, in particular on extremely steep northeast, north and west facing slopes. On sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.
