Forecast Snow Stability: Snowpack stability for much of the period will remain good, but light snow later in the day followed by light rain at all levels will form surface wet snow instabilities in sheltered gullies and on North-West through North to North-Easterly aspects. Cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry overnight and for much of Wednesday. A brief period of snow mid afternoon will affect slopes mainly above 950 metres before turning to rain at all levels. Precipitation levels are not expected to be great. Winds will be East-South-Easterly fresh becoming strong through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Calm, dry and settled conditions have affected the area today. The freezing level was around 800-900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Snowpack stability is generally good with a widespread re-frozen surface on many slopes above 850 metres. A light dusting of new snow overnight has formed shallow surface instabilities on slopes with a mainly North to Easterly aspect above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
