Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be firm overnight before softening and continuing to thaw during the day. Some minor wet snow instabilities will linger in steep North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. The greatest snow cover is found on these aspects above 700 metres while South-West to North-West aspects are scoured and bare in many locations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to be dry throughout the forecast period. Winds will be strong Southerly in the evening, backing to become mainly South-Easterly later. The freezing level will be around 800 metres overnight but rising to lie above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were moderate South-South-Easterly. Showers fell as snow overnight above 400 metres, before turning to rain at all levels. The freezing level was above the summits at midday. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack continues to slowly thaw at all elevations, but remains well bonded and stable in most locations. A thin layer of moist snow overlies the older existing snowpack above 600 metres, with some isolated deeper accumulations close to ridge crests on North to East aspects above 850 metres. These accumulations are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
