Kananaskis, Bow Valley, Highwood Pass, North 40, Spray - KLakes.
Slight cooling temps, no notable snow in the forecast, ice climbing season continues.
No new avalanches reported or observed today.
The surface remains a mixed bag of crusts & old windslabs. The top 20cm is basically a tired and worn out snow pack from weeks of consistent sun/wind exposure. On the brighter side, most, if not all the trouble layers have been dealt with and as time goes on are ranking lower and lower on our list of avalanche problems. Surface hoar remains buried and unreactive down 40cm and the deeper Nov crust is a distant memory some 120cm down. Our stage is set for a pretty good refresh when we do get snow.
Monday will be cloudy with sunny periods.
A day time high of -7 with 30km/h out of the West.
