Happy Valentines day! Our snowpack could use a "kiss" of new snow to freshen it up so please wish Ullr a happy Valentines day in addition to those around you. The travel is fast and so are the turns!

Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches reported or observed today.

Snowpack Summary

If we do get some snow on Saturday (yes we said this for Friday initially) with the moderate SW winds, expect some small wind slabs in lee features and cross loaded gullies. Otherwise..........

The surface consists of a hard surface and crusts that overly a generally well consolidated snowpack. The Jan 24 and Jan 3 surface hoar layers are mostly decomposed and can be found down around 15cm and 50cm respectively, producing hard resistant planar results.

Weather Summary

A drizzle of snow is forecast for Valentines day with daytime highs around -5 and winds near 40cm/hr out of the south west. Hopefully this is the start of new snow for the remainder of the month!
