Dry slab avalanches require caution.

Over a wide area 10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell yesterday above approximately 1500 m. The new snow is very loosely bonded in all altitude zones. The soft wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. Reports filed by observers and field observations show the unfavourable bonding of the snowpack in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

The fresh snow of the last few days as well as the wind slabs to be found above all in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on very steep northwest, north and southeast facing slopes above approximately 2200 m. Avalanches can also be triggered in near-ground layers. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and natural avalanches indicate the danger.
