Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will remain firm, icy and stable. The most significant snowfields being found on North through to East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It is forecast to be clear overnight and cloudy and dry throughout the day. Freezing level will be around 700m and slowly rise to around the summits by the end of the day. Overnight, winds will be light and back to a Southerly direction. During the day the South-South-Westerly winds will slowly increase from moderate to fresh. Observed Weather Influences: Dry with some afternoon sunshine. Winds were North-North-Easterlies and light. Freezing level around 600 metres, although cold air remains in the glens. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack is frozen and stable on all aspects and at all levels. There are extensive snowfields remaining on North through to East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
