Kananaskis.
4-7 cms of snow (rain at lower elevations?) over the next 24hrs with variable winds. The widespread crust will be a great bed surface for loose avalanches in steeper terrain so watch for sluffing. Solar radiation is also intense when the sun comes out! Lots to keep track of!
Cooler temps for the next few days with light flurries and total accumulations of up to 5cm over the next 24hrs. Winds will be into the light to moderate range out of the SW so watch for new windslabs building in alpine areas if snowfall amounts are higher than forecast.
No new avalanche activity over the past 24hrs.
Colder temperatures remained all day on Friday and as a result, the snowpack that was moist was frozen in throughout the day again. 4-7cm of new snow is expected over the next 24hrs with light to moderate winds out of the SW. This snow will likely poorly bond to the underlying crust in most places so watch for loose dry events if amounts are more than expected. On northern aspects, the snowpack is generally well settled with some isolated windslabs in alpine terrain. Watch to see what the winds do with the new forecasted amounts.
