Avalanche Activity

Some fresh snow and the small wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence.

Some fresh snow as well as the wind slabs to be found in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases in particular on very steep shady slopes above the tree line. Below approximately 2600 m moist avalanches are possible. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and restraint.

Snowpack Structure

Some fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on very steep shady slopes above the tree line.
