Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Light winds overnight increase through the day to become strong West-South-Westerlies. Mainly dry with some precipitation in the afternoon falling as snow above 800 metres. The freezing level will rise through the period to around 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry, sunny day with light variable winds. Temperatures were below zero at all elevations. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack remains hard, icy and stable in all locations. Greatest deposits are on high North to East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
