Avalanche Activity

Avalanche prone locations are to be found at intermediate and high altitudes.

The more recent wind slabs are lying on weak layers in particular on shady slopes. They can be released, even by small loads in isolated cases, in particular on very steep slopes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Here the avalanches can be triggered in the faceted old snow and reach medium size in isolated cases.

Snowpack Structure

2 to 10 cm of snow fell on Tuesday above approximately 1200 m. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack on shady slopes. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack. At intermediate and high altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The numerous rocks hidden by the recent snow are the main danger.

Tendency

On Saturday it will be cloudy.
