In particular high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Weak layers in the old snowpack can still be released in some place by winter sport participants. This applies in particular on steep shady slopes at intermediate and high altitudes. Dry avalanches can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. In the regions exposed to snowfall this applies especially on very steep slopes. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Monday: In some localities 5 to 15 cm of snow, and up to 20 cm in some localities, has fallen above approximately 1700 m. The weather conditions fostered a gradual strengthening of the snowpack. The old snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Weak layers exist in the snowpack. In the vicinity of peaks snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In places that are protected from the wind in all altitude zones a lot of snow is lying for the time of year.
