Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight localised unstable windslab will develop on North-East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. During the afternoon unstable windslab will become more widespread on North-West to North-East aspects above 800 metres. West aspects will be affected by cross loading. Areas most affected will be steep wind sheltered locations such as gully tops, coire rims and ridge flanks. Fresh cornices will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers during the night on gale force West-South-Westerly winds. Dry conditions expected during the morning followed by snow fall during the afternoon on fresh increasing to gale force South-Easterly winds. The 500 metre freezing level will steadily rise to 900 metres by the end of the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: A dry morning before the onset of snowfall on strong Westerly winds during the afternoon. The midday freezing level was around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Overnight there was a period of surface instabilities on steep North-Westerly to North-Easterly aspects above 1000 metres. Currently recent windslab accumulations are consolidating and have developed a friable surface crust; however, on these aspects above 950 metres snowpack weaknesses remain within deeper accumulations in areas of steep terrain. Through the afternoon, new windslab developed on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
