Avalanche Summary

You can easily trigger avalanches that break on the old snow surface. Avoid steep slopes below ridges, inside gullies, and beneath convex rollovers. Cracking in the storm snow and audible collapses are indications to avoid steep slopes. Look for slopes less than about 35 degrees without steep slopes above as a safer option.
