Avalanche Summary

An unusually shallow snowpack means most slopes are currently safe from avalanches. Around 4 to 6 inches of new snow will not change the avalanche danger. If you encounter stiff, wind-drifted snow on a steep, planar slope, consider going around it, especially if it is above a terrain trap such as a cliff or creek.
