The current trough will move to the East leaving a slight chance of isolated snow showers Monday night. Tuesday will be dry as a weak ridge builds into the region. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with 10,000 foot highs in the upper twenties. Ridge top winds will begin Westerly in the morning and back to southerly by afternoon and remain around 15 miles per hour.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to remain CONSIDERABLE Tuesday. First, lee slopes at Upper and Mid elevations are still drifting and building slabs Monday evening and will be sensitive to triggers Tuesday morning. Releasing those slabs will become easier as the day warms. Secondly, the new snow will respond rapidly to the strong April sun and natural and user triggered sloughs will be possible shortly after sunrise. Both of these situations will differ from the past several weeks in that there are now strong, smooth crusts under the new snow and slides will travel further and accumulate snow more quickly. Travel should be restricted to lower angle terrain and ended early in the day.
