At the mid and upper elevations, backcountry travelers could trigger pockets of soft slab 6 to 12 inches in depth and loose snow sluffs in steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain. These surface slides will increase in depth and extent as new snow accumulates throughout the day. The snowpack is mostly stable at the lower elevations and avalanches are unlikely.

Tightening pressure gradients are expected to cause snow to fall into Wednesday, with the higher elevations in the Tetons expected to receive the most moisture. Mountain temperatures are to remain cool with expected highs in the teens and winds are to be Westerly at 10-20 mph.The avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate at upper elevations. Skiers and riders will have the potential to trigger soft slabs and sluffs up to two feet in the Southwest and Teton areas and to one foot in the Togwotee area in steep avalanche terrain and on wind loaded slopes. In isolated areas of the Togwotee and Southwest Trails zones some potential remains for large loads to cause full depth avalanches.
