Highlights
Recent winds have formed dense surface slabs in steep terrain and cliff areas at the mid and high elevations. At high elevations skiers or riders could trigger pockets of these slabs to depths of two feet. At mid elevations, isolated pockets to one foot could be triggered. Sunlight and warming temperatures could increase the sensitivity of these slabs this afternoon. Avalanches at low elevations are not expected today. Yesterday two human triggered slabs where reported with one to two foot crowns near Little Tuckermans, just north of Teton Pass. Three snowmobilers were also killed by an avalanche yesterday in Indian Creek, an area of the Snake River Mountains to the South of the Teton Forecast area.
