Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Warning is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon for areas surrounding the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Heavy snowfall and strong winds will result in very dangerous avalanche conditions. It will be very easy to trigger large, unsurvivable avalanches. Very large avalanches will also release naturally and may be more destructive and run much further than expected, impacting valley bottoms and lower elevations. Avoid all avalanche terrain during this time period.
