Highlights

Avalanche danger is low. Clear and sunny days have made for good climbing conditions on Mt. Shasta. Even though the weather is good, conditions are NOT like they are in spring.  Winter brings much different conditions. Extreme wind, cold temperatures, ice/rock fall and a slide-for-life on slick snow surfaces are risks to keep in mind. All of these things have been observed in recent weeks. Lastly, DO NOT try and glissade down Mt. Shasta. It is too firm.
