Mountain temperatures are in the teens to low 20s this morning and are generally 6 to 10 degrees warmer that yesterday. Well developed crust exist. The chance for small wet slides to occur on very steep sunlit aspects will increase as the day warms. Use caution as very small slides can be dangerous in steep couloirs and cliff areas. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain after crust lose their strength and integrity. Cornices are large and may become unstable during the warmest portion of the day. Terrain above an elevation of 10,500 feet is above the upper range and scope of this general avalanche hazard rating. Greater hazard may be found there.

Moisture will begin to creep into the region ahead of a low pressure system that will be moving inland near the northern California and Oregon coasts. Snow and rain showers are likely on Monday. The freezing level is forecast to be at about 7,600 feet in the morning and rise to around 8,000 feet in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s tonight and in the 30s and 40s on Monday. Southerly winds will increase and veer towards the southwest. A mostly stable snowpack exists. A couple of inches of new snow could accumulate at the highest elevations during the afternoon. The general avalanches hazard is expected to be LOW.
