Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to slowly consolidate in the milder conditions. Areas of moderately bonded windslab will remain on mainly wind sheltered North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Any fresh deposits overnight and through the day will be shallow. On windward aspects, and below 900 metres, the snowpack will be on the most part shallow, and stability generally good. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: After a little snow overnight, the freezing level will rise to around 1200 meters where it will remain through the day. There will be some light showers which will fall as snow on the tops and rain at lower levels. Strong winds will be from the South-West. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cool dry day. The freezing level was around 600 metres. Winds were from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is slowly consolidating in the settled conditions. However, areas of moderately bonded windslab remain. These are mainly found in wind sheltered North-East to South-East aspects above 900 meters. On other aspects the snowpack tends to be very shallow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
