Wet snow
- Above treeline
In some localities up to 40 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 1800 m. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are therefore difficult to recognise.
In some localities up to 40 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 1800 m. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are therefore difficult to recognise.
The fresh snow and the wind slabs formed during the snowfall represent the main danger. The snowpack will become weakly bonded in particular on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released easily especially here.
The fresh snow and the extensive wind slabs can be released in some cases in particular on northeast to northeast to northwest facing aspects above approximately 1900 m.
Remotely triggered and natural avalanches are possible.
